Crimson Wine Group has initiated a program that will help out-of-work sommeliers and, at the same time, will promote online sales. Somms from the across the nation recruited to participate in our Support Our Sommeliers (SOS) program will create videos on select wines and share them with their social media followers.
Each sommelier will receive a stipend for creating the videos as well as a small commission on the wine sales. We will also donate a small percentage of sales to CORE (Children of Restaurant Workers), who has set up a Covid-19 fund for those in the service industry facing an economic or health crisis.
We hope to build a strong community with somms and restaurants across the country while so many businesses remain closed during shelter-in-place directives. We rely heavily on the restaurant community’s support and are committed to providing support to help get the community through the challenges that lie ahead.
Consumers who see the videos on social media will reference the sommelier when they order wines. All wines are eligible for supporting the sommeliers and for the donations to CORE. Simply use the “source code” and select the sommelier’s name during checkout.
Participants need to be working somms in a restaurant and have an Instagram account of at least 500 followers. One pre-approved video per brand must be posted to Instagram with the brand tagged and the hashtag #supportoursommeliers. The videos cannot exceed one minute.
Interested sommeliers should send an email to Marketing@CrimsonWineGroup.com for an information packet.
Each sommelier must produce a one-minute (no longer) video per wine and post to Instagram. Videos need to be pre-approved. Further details will be sent in a packet, email Marketing@CrimsonWineGroup.com
